 It all depends on where you live. California has plenty of real tacos, Texas too. Arizona as well I'd imagine but I'm less traveled in that area. Had good tacos in Oregon as well and Washington. There are mid-western/other East-coast and Southern states (SOME Southern and East-coast states, definitely not ALL) that are deprived of such, but it's not like all Americans know of the taco is Del Taco and Taco Bell.
